Make iDVD run on Mojave - easy!
« on: May 24, 2019, 09:24:06 AM »
iDVD has been pretty much obsolete for a while - since High Sierra I think (yeah, thanks, Apple). When I opened an iDVD project in Mojave it did open, but there were a lot of grey windows, none of my data showing, can't play the movie or burn a DVD. What the hell am I supposed to do when I want to burn an existing iDVD project?

Well, I am delighted to have found a very easy workaround!

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250109226

Just copy the iDVD app to an external drive and run it from there. I could see all the data, menus, images, etc., could play the project as normal, and am just now burning a DVD from this existing project made a couple of years ago. Hopefully it will burn OK (will update this post if I find any problem with the newly-burned DVD).

[UPDATE - worked fine!]

An interesting workaround - and what's best is, it is simple and immediate!

Have a Good Friday!

Wayne - that was an error message you got when trying to use the link I provided?

It still works for me, so I'm not sure what to advise. Try a different browser?
