Wanted: inexpensive WiFi service and router
« on: August 16, 2019, 05:55:27 PM »
I'm currently using Asahi-Net's WiFi service, which is quite acceptable.  However, I need a second router so that both me and my wife will be able to have WiFi service if away from home at the same  time.  Asahi-net does not provide a second router at a discounted price, requiring that a second router be purchased at a rather high full price. As a result, I'm looking for an alternative way to have a second WiFI service.  Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.  Many thanks in advance.

Are you or your wife using Smartphones? I usually turn my iPhone into a personal wifi service when away from home. If the phone is not sufficient, I put the phone in my pocket and tether an iPad or a laptop to it.

Or buy an unlocked (SIM free) pocket WiFi (under 10,000 yen on Amazon) and a data only BIC/IIJMIO SIM...
